Making a Difference – Kenya & Madagascar

Recently, my dear friend Lisa and I had the privilege of visiting two very special places close to Lisa’s heart — Melon Mission in Kenya and Analapatsy Village in Madagascar.

Lisa has been supporting these communities for several years, and I was deeply moved to see the work she has been involved in firsthand. It was an experience that opened my eyes to both the incredible resilience of the people we met and the very real challenges they face.

Melon Mission in Kenya is a wonderful organisation providing support, care and opportunities for vulnerable children. The work being done there is making a genuine difference in the lives of children who need someone to believe in them and give them a chance to thrive.

We also travelled to Analapatsy Village in Madagascar, a beautiful and remote community situated beside the ocean. Although the setting is breathtaking, life for the people of the village is incredibly difficult. Poverty is widespread, and periods of drought can make an already challenging life even harder.

Meeting the people, seeing their homes and hearing their stories made this much more than simply a visit. It reminded me that small acts of kindness and ongoing support can make a meaningful difference.

Lisa has been quietly supporting these communities for years, and I am now very grateful to be able to come on board and play a small part in that work through Wonderwhirl Books.

As part of this commitment, $5 from every Wonderwhirl Books bundle sold will be donated towards supporting the children and communities of Melon Mission and Analapatsy Village.

I believe that stories can inspire kindness, compassion and connection — and I love that my books can now help carry those values beyond the pages and into the lives of children and families who need a helping hand.

Thank you for supporting Wonderwhirl Books and, in doing so, helping us make a little difference in the world.
