It has been lovely to reconnect with friends over coffee, enjoy being part of the local community, and even tackle some of those everyday jobs like visiting the hairdresser, catching up on appointments, and tending to the garden.
One of the highlights has been setting up a table with my books at the Stanthorpe Little Theatre during the run of You Couldn’t Read About It. What a fantastic production! It truly showcased the incredible talent that exists within our beautiful town.
I’ve also been busy restocking my books at the local art gallery and was delighted to donate a copy of Janique to the local library.
Last week I headed to Northern New South Wales for
another house-sitting adventure, where I cared for a
gorgeous little dog – she looks a little like the one in this photo.
One of the joys of this lifestyle is meeting wonderful people and their much-loved pets along the way.
After that, I spent a couple of days at the Woodford Show, where I was invited to host a stall and entertain children with book readings and activities. I really enjoyed sharing my stories with young readers and their families.
People often say they don’t know how they ever found time to work once they retire.
I’m beginning to understand exactly what they mean!
